Too excited to post this song here, totally addicted to Jo bhi Main from Rockstar. Was desperately waiting for the music release of Rockstar. A R Rehman doing the magic once again with a brilliant album, and the best part is that all the songs are sung by Mohit Chauhan, my fav.

This song has everything to become an anthem, a youth anthem. Brilliant Lyrics by Irshad Kamil, MOhit Chauhan's voice, A R Rehman's experimental music, nice video, and Ranbir Kapoor doing complete justice on screen with his acting skills for the video. "Jo bhi main kehna chahoon, barbaad karen alfaaz mere", just love this line from the song. This line kind of sums up everything about the song.

The guitar chords for Jo bhi main from Rockstar are pretty easy, Only 3-4 chords used. The strumming pattern is also very simple, just play with the song for a couple of times and you will figure out.

This is a tribute to one of my all time favorite band REM, the band officially seperated just a couple of days back after almost 3 decades, so this is just to say a little Thank You from my side. Thank you guys, you made some brilliant music.

Alright, so Everybody Hurts is my most loved REM song, the song was released on the 1992 album Automatic for the People and was also released as a single in 1993. Everybody Hurts peaked at #29 on the Billboard Hot 100, #7 on the UK Singles Charts and #3 on the French Singles Chart. The song has an interesting factoid, it was written by drummer Bill Berry. The string arrangement was written by Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones.

The song is about letting all your worries go, coz Everybdy hurts. I just simply love the video of this song, it's one of the best videos ever made. In the video it is shown that the band is stuck in a bad traffic jam. It shows the people in other cars and subtitles of their thoughts appear on screen, thoughts about stressful events that drapre their everyday lives. Then towards the end, its like they forget everything and all the people get out of their cars and walk through the traffic. It shows that in life there will always be problems, but in the end everythings ok.

The song is covered by many artists, one of my favourite cover is from The Corrs. The guitar chords of this song are pretty simple but you need to know the tempo of the song quite well to play it, play it really slow with the song a couple of times and you will figure it out.

Gonna keep it really short this time. This one's Lips of an Angel by Hinder, released as the second single from their album Extreme Behavior. Lips of an Angel became a breakthrough hit, charting in the Top Ten on several Billboard trade charts in the United States, and reaching Number One in several countries. There is another cover version of the song by Jack Ingram which is also became widely popular.

The meaning of the song is pretty simple, it means that even though he is with someone else and his ex girlfriend is with someone he still loves her and obviously she still cares about him as well. I like the opening line of the song where he describes his feelings when his favored girlfriend from his past calls late at night, somewhat pleasantly interrupting his current relationship.

About the chords listed below, you can use E instead Esus and G instead of G5, there would not be much difference in the sound though.

Alright, my dear Rockers.. Here's the flavour of the season, Tere Siva from Delhi Belly. Beautiful track from the movie Delhi belly, a lovely soft romantic number, the only soft and romantic number in the movie. Sang by the music director, Ram Samapath himself. with Tarannum Malik. Lyrics by Amitabh Bhattachrya, I just love the way this guy writes. The song has a slight ’90s touch though the song is very likable and lovely, something that has been seen in some other Ram Sampath songs too, I feel. Well composed, well sung, with a nice end.

This song somehow reminds me of the Australian band INXS, sounds like a mix of 2 songs from them, Beautiful girl and Afterglow. But again, that is just my way of connecting to the song. Looks like I have nothing to do today, so here's my second post for the day. Don't look back in anger by Oasis, from their hit second album (What's the Story) Morning Glory? The song was written by Noel Gallagher, Oasis's guitarist and main songwriter.

Well, about the meaning of the song, there's lots said and discussed about this song, some say that this song is about not thinking about the past, some say it's to forget the past, but like always, I believe what the songwriter himself has to say about the song.

Noel Gallagher said of the song, "[It] reminds me of a cross between "All the Young Dudes" and [something] The Beatles might have done." Of the character "Sally" referred to in the song he commented, "I don't actually know anybody called Sally. It's just a word that fit, y'know, might as well throw a girl's name in there. It's gotta guarantee somebody a shag off a bird called Sally, hasn't it?"

Noel also accepts that some part of the lyrics are lifted from John lennon, and the opening riff is also similar to John Lennon's Imagine. Noel Gallagher commented on the intro's similarity to "Imagine" saying, "In the case of Don't Look Back in Anger - I mean, the opening piano riff's Imagine. 50% of it's put in there to wind people up, and the other 50% is saying 'look, this is how songs like Don't Look Back in Anger come about - because they're inspired by songs like Imagine'. And no matter what people might think, there will be some 13 year old kid out there who'll read an interview and think 'Imagine? I've never heard that song' and he might go and buy the album, you know what I mean?" Gallagher also admits that he was under the influence of illegal substances when he wrote the song and to this day he claims he does not know what it means.

Hello Fellas, Writing on a Sunday evening from Mumbai, India. And today we have the beautiful love song by Coldplay, Yellow. The song is from Coldplay's debut album Parachutes released in 2000.

Well, as mentioned on Wikipedia, "Yellow" was written in a Rockfield studio in Wales. One night after finishing recording "Shiver", the lead single of the album, the band took a break and went out of the studio. Outside, there were few lights on and the stars in the sky were visible and "just amazing", according to the song's co-producer, Ken Nelson. He told the band to look at the stars, which they did. Vocalist Chris Martin was inspired by the sight and the song's main melody, consisting of a chord pattern, popped into his head. At first, Martin did not take it seriously "as he relayed the tune to the rest of the band in his worst Neil Young impersonation voice". Martin has said, "The song had the word 'stars' and that seemed like a word you should sing in a Neil Young voice. The melody "started off a lot slower", according to drummer Will Champion, and it sounded like a Neil Young song. Not long after, despite not taking the song seriously, Martin's idea worked out when he had developed the tempo of the verse. When guitarist Jonny Buckland started playing it and supplemented it with his ideas, they had created the riff, "and it sort of got a bit heavier".

While composing the song's lyrics, however, Martin could not find the right words. He was thinking of a specific word, which he deemed a missing key word in the lyrics, to fit the song's concept. He looked around the studio and found the telephone directory Yellow Pages, which happened to be situated nearest to him. Martin later titled the song "Yellow" as a reference to the directory. The lyrics progressed from there with the band collaborating. Bassist Guy Berryman came up with the opening line "Look at the stars". That night, having quickly composed the song, the band recorded it. What a story behinfd this great song.

Absolute honour to post this song here today on my blog. One of my most loved songs by one of my most loved artists, the legendary Bod Dylan. Possibly one of the best written meaningful songs, by our great man himself.

Released in 1964 (that's 20 years before I was born :P), the title track of the album "The times they are a changin'", this song became a sensation, like an anthem for the frustrated youth. Simple and mellow guitaring, Bob's unorthodox voice, and the brilliant lyrics made this song what it is today.

Here's a beautiful song only on acoustic guitars with beautiful strumming. This is the reprise version of Bin Tere, and it surely is a reprise. Sung by the Music Director himself, Shekhar Ravjiani of Vishal-Shekhar. I remember him singing Aazmale from Taxi no 9211.

Shekhar is brilliant on vocals in this one, singing it as if he is sitting in his room with a guitar and composing the song. This song is only on guitars with beautiful simple notes, and Shekhar's soothing voice. It's my fav song from the album. I liked Sadka Kiya as well, and the original Bin Tere sung by Shafqat Amanat Ali.

Alright, so to conclude, this is a must listen song. Simple, sweet and perfect - not a wrong note anywhere! This version should be on all your favorites playlists and on replay. I just love the video of this song, its definitely a must watch, the video has a reverse narrative and I just love it. The video has a suspense at the end, so do watch it on Youtube. In order for Chris Martin to appear to be mouthing the lyrics in the reversed footage, he had to learn to sing the song backwards, which took him a month to do. The video also won 3 MTV Music video awards.

About the meaning, the song is about a break up or losing someone you loves and Chris Martin is trying to use science and reason to figure out what went wrong. But even that doesn't make sense to him. The line "take me back to the start" is where he wants to take things back to the very begining of the relationship when everything was okay. Outside By Staind. I love Aaron Lewis's vocals, and the way he sings. Its a sexy grunge number. I know that its quite late to post this song, but I could not help it. This is one of my fav songs these days. One of those touching songs, from a touching movie.. I am sure that lot of people would agree with this song, and would somewhere relate to this song, atleast I do.

The song talks about youth being not allowed to live life the way they want. About how kids are deprived of their innocence in the world of education that dictates what they should be doing rather than them making a choice. And how they wanna breakfree from all this.. Lovely meaning to the song, with lovely lyrics.

Suraj Jaggan, the vocalist from Dream out Loud, doing complete justice to this song with his hard voice and all his heart. Sharman Joshi with his Anecdotes from his childhood.. All in all, a fantastic track to be heard and played.

This song has been one of my most played songs in 2009. I became a fan of Goldspot in 2008 when I first heard this on TV. Infact, I love all the songs by Goldspot. My favs are Rewind, Time Bomb, Float on, It's getting old, Perfect Dream, Call center girl. Sidhharth Khosla is a great vocalist. And for the ones who are not familiar with Goldspot, Go google it.

Friday is a fantastic song from a fantastic album "Tally of the Yes Man".. I love the album. "Friday" was BBC Radio 2's record of the week and reached #22 in the UK airplay charts. Goldspot also release a hindi version of this song, and it eached #4 in the BBC Asian Network Charts. I love the hindi version too. You will find it on Youtube. Friday's video was a hit in MTV, VH1 and other music channels across the world. Its a lovely video.

Tu jaane naa.. A beautiful track from the movie Ajab Prem ki Gajab Kahani... There are 3 versions of this song, but I first heard the Aatif Aslam version, and was a instant hit for me. The other versions are from Kailash Kher with Naresh-Paresh, and the last version by some other guys.

At the very first instance, 'Tu Jaane Na' seems to be embarking on a sudden start. However, a minute into the song, Atif Aslam takes over the proceedings and comes up with a heartfelt rendition for this love track. With a 'sufi' element to it, what strikes most about 'Tu Jaane Na' is a certain purity that makes it yet another quality number that Imtiaz Ali would have loved to have in his next film.

And then comes an 'unplugged version' and as Kailash Kher, Paresh and Naresh go about their act, one is convinced that 'Tu Jaane Na' is pretty much the other highlight number in the album after 'Main Tera Dhadkan Teri'. This is a kind of song that can be heard on a repeat mode without being bored.

Afterglow is a superb "Soft rock" track from one of my fav bands INXS. For people who don't know, INXS is an Australia based band. The song afterglow appears in the album Switch. This was the first album after the entry of new Vocalist J. D. Fortune, the winner from the reality talent hunt show "Rock Star: INXS".
The song was written by Andrew Farriss and Desmond Child.

The song was written as a tribute to the great Michael Hutchence, one of the founders of the band and one of the greatest musicians. Michael was alleged to have committed suicide in 1997. The official INXS website however states that the song wasn't directly written for Michael, but it was a tribute to him. The website also states that the song "deals quite generically with the sense of loss." J.D fits in the band quite well, and this song probably explains how he doesn't want to take over, and just wants to continue Michael's legacy.

I love this line so much: "Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow". This probably explains the whole song.

We all know history, and we all know how our great freedom fighters lost their lives to make India free. So, lets remember all those greatest brave souls of the country today.

Some facts about the Indian National Anthem "Jana Gana Mana" that you may or may not know.

Jana Gana Mana is written by the great Rabindranath Tagore, and was originally composed by Ram singh Thakur in 1911 and was first sung at the Indian National congress on 27th Dec, 1911.

Jana Gana Mana was officially announced as the Indian National Anthem on January 24th, 1950 by the Constituent assembly, just two days before the Indian Republic day.

Although written in Bengali, the pronunciation of the anthem varies considerably across India due to the country's extensive linguistic diversity.

The song Aicha has a good history about its origin.. It was originally written in french by Singer Songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman. It was originally composed and sung by Khaled, Yes the "Didi" man.

Outlandish wrote and recorded the english version of Aicha, and was released in their second album all over. The video of the song "Aicha" won the best music video award.

Every time i see the video of this song, a chill runs down my spine, and it seriously happens everytime. The song is a result of great poetry, beautiful music, killer voice, and violent visuals - a deadly combination.

Lyrics by Prasoon Joshi, music by Legend AR Rahaman, and beautifully sung by Mohit Chauhan, the song had everything for a masterpiece. And actors like Aamir Khan starring in it made it even more meaningful and realistic.

I dedicate this song against the cowardly act of Mother****** Lashkar e Toiba for the 26/11 attacks on Mumbai. This song is a message to all those cowards.

Think i had just passed out of high school when i first heard this song, and i liked it, liked all the Enrique songs which came then. I loved the video [reason : I love Jennifer love Hewitt, boy she looks hot in that video]. Of course, the video had an anti-climax with Enrique badly getting beaten up by an old guy. But, it was a good video overall. I like Enrique's voice, and the way he sings.Hero was a complete song with good lyrics, melody, and a good video, gotta give the credit to Enrique for the lyrics. There was also a spanish and a remixed version of the song Hero.

Many people associated this song with September 11 attacks on World trade center in America, but i believe it could be a coincidence that the song came out at the same time. A sensitive romantic ballad, i will keep playing this song as long as i can remember to play.

What a beautiful song this is, A real masterpiece by Jason Mraz.. I heard this first on Vh1 and immediately fell in love with it. Then i heard this song for the second time in my friend's wedding (Rajesh-Chez) and saw them dance on this, and i wanted to hear this song again and again. It's just so relaxing, so true, so touching, so everything. It's just an amazing song.

Excellent Eagles song, one of my favs.. "Take It Easy" is actually written by Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey, and recorded by the Eagles (with Frey singing lead vocals). It was the band's first single, released on May 1, 1972. It also was the opening track on the band's debut album Eagles and it has become one of their signature songs, included in most of their live and compilation albums. It is one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.

The Eagles played this live long before they recorded it. It was one of the songs they played when they were doing 4 sets a night at a club in Aspen, Colorado. By the time they recorded it, the song had more of a Country feel.

It was the first time a Beatle recorded without the others, and marked a shift to more independent accomplishments among the group. While John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote The Beatles early songs together, by 1965 most of their songs were primarily written by one or the other, although they continued to credit all their songs Lennon/McCartney.
