Life is confusing. No matter how far into it you are you're always racing against the clock trying to find a purpose before your time's up, that's what this song is all about. But, somewher i also believe that Linda wants to tell something about "Male domination".. refer to these lines

The title of this song "What's up" is not in the lyrics. The Chorus says "What's going on", but as "What's going on" was also the title of a 1971 Marvin Gaye R&B Classic, they always called this song "Whats up"

A year ago,I got my Sister up to sing this song at a family/friends outdoor karaoke party, which, she totally hit~it.
She loved that song. Three months later she was hit by a car, I love her and miss her. Good song.
